John Beres The Ordinary Man Lyrics
The Ordinary Man by John Beres
It seems a though it was yesterday, but it was sometime ago.
I was a child in life still with, a whole lot to know.
Well I do recall a time, I met an ordinary man.
He told me, 'Son, to make the grade, always do the very best you can.'
Never was a king or a president, never walked upon the moon.
He never wrote a book or a fairy tale, or saved a princess from her doom.
He never climbed the highest mountain, and never sailed across the Nile.
But he could surely bring the sunshine to a rainy day w ith a smile.
Time goes on for each one of us, another place another day.
If I could say what tomorrow brings, it would be yesterday.
To once again live the memories, the times when you were near.
It's the laughter in your voice...that I still hear.
We wish upon a star and hope that dreams come true.
I wish that all the people, in the world could be like you.
