Chuck Schwandt Heart Strings Lyrics
Heart Strings by Chuck Schwandt
There's a road running right thru me
Where my heart freely breathes
When I walk there day by day
I read God's Word and I pray.
There's a highway running right there too
Where my sin nature tries to choose
And if I go there in any way
I feel so hollow so in disarray.
Why would I go to that highway disgrace
Lessons of causality all over the place
Why would I step from this narrow road
When I know just right where that goes
And there is Jesus walking with me too
So understanding through and through
And if I detour I come to tears
He has been faithful through my years
And I'm determined to go His way
Life so abundant so full of grace
I make my way up this narrow road
My heart strings tied to my Saviour's throne
Where my heart freely breathes
When I walk there day by day
I read God's Word and I pray.
There's a highway running right there too
Where my sin nature tries to choose
And if I go there in any way
I feel so hollow so in disarray.
Why would I go to that highway disgrace
Lessons of causality all over the place
Why would I step from this narrow road
When I know just right where that goes
And there is Jesus walking with me too
So understanding through and through
And if I detour I come to tears
He has been faithful through my years
And I'm determined to go His way
Life so abundant so full of grace
I make my way up this narrow road
My heart strings tied to my Saviour's throne
