Erik Segel Healing Light Lyrics

Healing Light by Erik Segel

Sing my favorite lullaby
For these long insomnia nights,
Lend your hair as pacifier
As if I were on your thighs.
I'll cross each and every land,
Just to see you and start to cry
You won't notice, I can promise,
I can love you from a side
I used to hide so much
This darkness is garnished as I like.
I can't go back
After I've known your healing light.

There's an old scar still to come
Of a man who outshined your sun,
Now you want the prince of silence,
Not a poet on the run.
We were dancing into one
One night in Saint Secondin,
Now I play the second fiddle
In this riddle asked by love,
And am I done? I must ask
Am I here completely done?
I don't want out,
Now that I've found your healing light.

All I am lies in this poem
All I speak is sometimes truth,
Here it is, my timeless drama,
Here it is, my chanceless you.
Before I go back to prison
Let me praise it through and through:
It is more than life what found me
In what now I mean by "you".

Now the lullaby is torn
With the dream insomnia's drawn,
Have some mercy upon the vulture
Who once thought it could be a swan.
I drew knuckles on the wall
And a crack through which I called
Help me make this close to easy
'cause it is not close at all,
And here's your salt,
My open wounds, here's your salt.
I got new scars
They're carved by your
By your healing light.

You know I'm condemned to shake
With the music in your name,
When our scents undress in haste,
Our bodies sewn to a single waist.
We'll be dancing into haze,
As we claim none is to blame,
Is there anything we've missed?
Is there something left to say?
'cause if there is,
You'd better tell me
Before this goes amiss.
And after all,
I'm sick and high
On your healing light.
